Short Curriculum Vitae

KONSTANTIN BELEZOS, Assistant Professor in the Department of Theology, University of Athens, born in USA, studied at the Universities of Athens, Regensburg, Tűbingen (Germany) and Besançon (France).

He was acclaimed Doctor of Theology with the Thesis The Commentary of Oikoumenios on the Revelation of John (Historical and exegetical approach), Athens 1997.

He taught Religion at the School and since 1999 he is Lecturer (since January 2007 Assistant Professor) in the Department of Theology (Athens University). He teaches: Introduction to the NT, Hermeneutics and NT Exegesis, Exegetical Methodology and Theology on Gender and Environment.

From his various publications here the books: a) The Commentary of Oikoumenios the Diligent on St John’s Revelation. Historical and methodological approach, Athens 1999 [= Center for the Research of Byzantium. Society of the Friends of People: 8], b) John Chrysostom and St Paul: The Chronological Classification of Pauline Epistles in the Chrysostomical Interpretation (3rd, completely revised and expanded edition), Athens 2008 [1998], and c) The Semantics of Marriage in St John’s Revelation. Figures and their Symbolism, Athens 2006.

He has published studies and articles in Congress Proceedings, collective Volumes, scientific Journals and Magazines in Greece and abroad. He has also edited or curated books of theological, historical, philosophical, educational and literary literature (Paul Claudel, Friedrich Nietzsche, Blaise Pascal etc).
